The most dramatic change along the Ptarmigan Traverse has been the South Cascade Glacier. The loss of glacier area and volume is unmistakable in the 2005 photo on the right (courtesy Tim Ragan). Note the small pinnacle at the lower left corner of both pictures, which confirms similar framing.
