During the winter of 2023, I was contacted by Edward Krigsman, host of
a podcast called
“Power of Place: Stories of the Pacific Northwest.”
Edward was interested in talking to me about the history, geography and
culture of mountain skiing. We met at the Jack Straw Cultural Center in
Seattle’s University District a few months later for an in-person
interview. We had a wide ranging conversation, which Edward trimmed down
to a one-hour podcast,
