Wenatchee Valley Museum - Photographs
Mark Behler showed me a few photos of early skiing in the Wenatchee area and at Stevens Pass. The following were noteworthy:
- 80-21-22: Stevens Pass ski lodge dedication on 12/4/1937. Destroyed by fire in the winter of 1937-38. People standing outside the lodge (front) are Walter Pickens, Johnny Parkhill, Olav Ulland, Mrs. Walt Anderson, Killian Seekamp, Millie Seekamp, unknown, Millie Seekamp?, (back) Barclay Brauns, unknown, Walt Anderson, Everett Knapp, unknown, Delmas McCrackin. Unidentified skiers came to the dedication from Everett.
- 80-21-23: The Barrier before chairlifts built, Stevens Pass. (Negative only. I didn't look at this image.)
- 87-6-19, 87-6-20: Two photos, each of a skier in Number 2 canyon, west of Wenatchee. One image is a bit blurry (the skier has no poles) and in the other the skier (with poles) is near the left edge of the frame. Mark Behler said these photos date from the 1910s.
