The conventional methods of fastening skis to the pack don't
work well in brush. Besides they are slow to set up. Better
is to clip the ski binding to a carabiner near your waist. When
the ski tips are lashed together, it is the flying wedge.
When the tips are free to wander, it is the flying windmill.
